Europe are a Swedish melodic heavy metal band. They formed in 1979, and rose to international fame in the 80s with the release of their third album, The Final Countdown, which performed very well in America and Europe. They are remembered as being one of the most successful rock bands of the 80s, selling over 10 million albums worldwide, four million in the US alone. Of their future, Joey Tempest has said, "we’ll probably come out with an album in 2011 and tour in 2012 again. In the next five years I see Europe with twp more albums, two more world tours and hopefully having established ourselves even better in a lot of territories around the world!"

I had booked tickets to see Foreigner at Hammersmith Apollo and wasnt expecting to see Europe..but what a bonus and I am now a complete convert. They were amazing, hard to believe they are all pushing 50. Joey Tempest is an amazing front man and looks even better than he did in the 80s! They are so much more than The Final Countdown. I hope they will be back in London very soon.
Manchester - Academy 2
AWESOME! from Suze, 01/03/11
Having been a fan of Europe since the middle 1980s and seeing them live more times than I can remember this show did not disappoint. John Norum plays with heart and soul, not unlike the great Gary Moore (RIP) Joey Tempest is one of the ultimate front men and his voice is still in top form. A great night of new and old material. The band also agreed to meet me and donated some fantastic signed items for Music Heals Childrens Charity of which I am a Trustee. A night to remember.
London - Shepherds Bush Empire
EUROPE - SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE 19/02/11 from Empire, 21/02/11
Europe blasted the Empire with a professional, technically brilliant performance. They are surely re-establishing their status in the Rock world. The playlist was thoughtful and contained both new and old songs. Keep out of the Doghouse and go see EUROPE live.
